Amazon is set to hire hundreds of workers for its new fulfillment centers in Cocoa and in Melbourne ahead of the holiday shopping season. The huge facilities have been vacant since receiving occupancy certificates almost three years ago, but now they will be open and operating before the end of this year. The Brevard County centers are part of Amazon’s big expansion in Florida, which includes facilities in Melbourne, Cocoa, Port St. Lucie, Jacksonville, and Tampa. Jobs will start at $17 per hour, with benefits including health coverage and paid parental leave.
