Melbourne police are investigating a shooting that took place just after noon on Tuesday, leading to a temporary lockdown at two schools. The body of 27-year-old Craig S. Dewberry Jr. of Palm Bay was found at the Tip Top Mini Mart on Monroe Street. The incident resulted in lockdowns at nearby Stone Magnet Middle School and University Park Elementary School as authorities searched for the suspect. Police say Dewberry was not connected to the store or the schools. The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m. Police at last word, were continuing their search for the gunman. The shooting was not believed to have been a random incident.
