Aquarium Plans Progressing

The Brevard Zoo’s ambitious plan to build a $100 million aquarium and conservation campus at Port Canaveral is progressing but remains underfunded. The project, initially set to begin construction before the end of this year, is now 85% funded. Despite the shortfall however, local leaders remain optimistic. The aquarium, when finished, will feature a manatee healing center and seagrass nursery, with a portion of ticket sales dedicated to improving lagoon water quality. Meanwhile, the zoo aims to secure the remaining funds and begin construction soon.
