Ronald Kiger has emerged as the grand prize winner of this year’s Florida Python Challenge. Kiger removed 20 Burmese pythons from the Everglades during the recent 10-day competition, earning him a $10,000 prize. The event, aimed at raising awareness about the invasive species, saw participation from over 800 hunters. Kiger, who was a runner-up last year, led the field this time, while Donna Kalil secured second place with 19 pythons. The challenge successfully removed 195 pythons from the wild. The competition also awarded prizes in novice and military categories.
