Wave Sensors To Monitor Hurricane In Gulf

In preparation for Hurricane Helene, the United States Geological Survey on Wednesday, deployed 13 wave sensors along Florida’s West Coast. The sensors, installed on sturdy structures like bridges and piers from Venice to Panama City, are designed to collect crucial data on water levels, wave height, and storm surge during the hurricane. Helene is now expected to make landfall tonight in the big bend area as a Category 4 storm. The wave sensors are aimed at enhancing the understanding of hurricane impacts and also will aid in recovery efforts following the storm.
