Volusia Man Sentenced In Identity Fraud Case

A Daytona Beach man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for stealing the identity of a comatose Texas resident. 40 year old Donald Wood pled guilty to a string of felony charges, including organized fraud and tampering with a felony proceeding. Investigators learned that Wood used the victim’s personal information to secure loans for vehicles and even attempted to refinance his own house. The investigation revealed losses exceeding $75,000. Efforts are ongoing to help the victim and his family recover from the identity theft, which impacted several other victims across the country.
