Governor Ron DeSantis announced that 2,800 workers will remove debris from the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Milton’s destruction over the next 90 days, following federal approval for 100% reimbursement. The workforce includes state departments and the National Guard. The effort will focus mainly on hard-hit areas like Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, where as of Sunday, 818,000 accounts remain without power. Meanwhile, all airports, except Sarasota Bradenton, are now open in that part of the state.
