SpaceX Super Heavy Test Considered A Success

In Texas, SpaceX’s massive Starship Super Heavy rocket completed a significant test Sunday morning. The 492-foot rocket successfully fired its 33 engines, separating its stages mid-flight. After the second stage continued on, the first stage, known as the Super Heavy booster, was recaptured by SpaceX’s “Mechazilla” arms at the launch pad—an essential step toward reusability. While the Starship spacecraft splashed down intact in the Indian Ocean, it burst into flames on impact, but SpaceX still considered the test a success. The efforts push the company closer to its goals of lunar and Mars missions.
