Brevard County Fire Ocean Rescue will hold lifeguard tryouts on Saturday, November 2, at 9 a.m. at the Rockledge High School Pool. Candidates aged 16 and older can apply, with no prior lifeguarding experience required. Participants must possess strong swimming skills and reliable transportation. The tryout will consist of a 500-yard swim, a 1-mile run, and a physical agility test. Those interested should register in advance by contacting Brevard County Ocean Rescue. Candidates must bring a government ID, Social Security card, appropriate swim attire, and running shoes. Starting pay for ocean lifeguards is $14.75 per hour.
