Rockledge Man Jailed For Shooting His Dog While Drunk – Blames FPL

A Rockledge man, 72-year-old John Burgos, faces charges after deputies say he shot and killed his dog during a fit of anger related to a power outage. Investigators say it happened at his home on October 12, when Burgos, who they say was intoxicated, fired shots inside the house because Florida Power & Light had not yet restored his electricity. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey now says Burgos shows no remorse, claiming that the power company was to blame for his actions. Burgos is charged with animal cruelty and discharging a firearm while under the influence. He is being held without bond.
