Cocoa Request For Federal Grant For Brightline Station Rejected

Cocoa’s request for a $47.46 million federal grant to help fund a new Brightline train station has been rejected. The funding, part of the $83 million project, would have supported the station and surrounding rail infrastructure. Despite the setback, City Manager Stockton Whitten says Cocoa plans to reapply for the grant in December. The city meanwhile, has secured other funding and Brightline’s support for the project.
