A Cocoa Beach man has been arrested on charges including stalking after installing a tracking device on his ex-girlfriend’s car. The charges come about following a traffic stop earlier this month, during which police discovered the tracker in the vehicle’s glove compartment. Investigators say the victim had repeatedly asked Walter Hite Jr to stop contacting her, but he showed up uninvited at a local restaurant and followed her. Police actually found two tracking devices, and they say it highlights the growing concern over such technology being used for harassment. Hite also faces additional charges including cyberstalking and installing a tracking device.
