A woman is recovering after being attacked by a pit bull while walking on the beach in Cape Canaveral. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was hospitalized for three days with severe bite wounds following the attack that took place last Thursday. The 100-pound dog, which was not supposed to be at the beach, reportedly attacked in seconds, leaving the victim with deep injuries. The dog’s owner has been cited, and the dog is now in quarantine. The victim will need plastic surgery and is being monitored for infections.
