It’s now been confirmed that a fox found near La Cita Country Club in Titusville tested positive for rabies. The discovery made last Monday, November 18th has now prompted a rabies alert in the area. Residents are urged to keep their pets indoors and avoid contact with wildlife, including raccoons and bats. The Florida Department of Health is monitoring for further rabies cases in the area. Anyone spotting stray wildlife is asked to report it to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Animal Control.
