A chain reaction crash early Saturday on northbound I-95 near mile marker 223 left one man dead and several injured. The crash began when a 33-year-old Port St. Lucie man in a Chevy Impala collided with a Volkswagen, then exited his vehicle. He was struck by two vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. A good Samaritan who stopped to help was hit by a fifth car and airlifted to a trauma hospital in critical condition. Other drivers sustained minor or no injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
