The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant returned to Port Canaveral after a 54-day patrol, and it brought with it quite a haul. The ship offloaded over 3,000 pounds of illegal drugs, including 1,510 pounds of cocaine and 1,470 pounds of marijuana. The drugs, valued at $18.5 million, were seized in the Caribbean during two separate operations. Along with the narcotics, 15 suspected smugglers were arrested. The crew also assisted over 40 people in distress during Hurricane Milton.
