County leaders on Tuesday will take up whether to push a voter referendum to renew the 10-year, half-cent sales tax that funds Indian River Lagoon cleanup. Staff wants approval to draft and advertise the ordinance, setting up a public hearing next spring. Commissioners will also decide whether to spend another $1.3 million from the existing tax to improve reclaimed water treatment in West Melbourne, a move supporters say would cut more pollution before it reaches the lagoon.
