The City of Melbourne is now accepting applications for the 2026 “Melbourne Salutes Hometown Heroes” program, honoring residents, business owners, family members, and city employees who are active duty, veterans, or killed in the line of duty. Banners featuring each honoree’s name, photo, branch, and years of service will be displayed along New Haven Avenue from May 1 through July 4, 2026. Applications are open through January 26 and will be selected on a first come, first served basis.
