It’s now been confirmed that the human remains found inside a minivan that was discovered in a retention pond are those of Katya Belaya, a Melbourne woman missing since 2014. The remains discovered in her minivan, were found by divers just over a mile from her home. Belaya disappeared back in 2014 after telling her children she was heading to the store, but never arrived. The vehicle was discovered on December 20th following new leads from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. DNA testing confirmed the remains were hers. The case remains open.
