A sailboat, stranded for two weeks on New Smyrna Beach, was dismantled and taken to a landfill after no buyers came forward. The boat had become a local attraction before turning into an eyesore. The owner, unable to afford the $20,000 removal fee, listed it for just $1 in hopes of finding a buyer, but no serious offers materialized. County officials, concerned about environmental risks, removed the vessel after securing approvals from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The boat was demolished and taken to a landfill.
