Plans Address Melbourne Homeless Problem

Melbourne city leaders are taking steps to address homelessness with the proposed Providence Place, a new affordable housing facility initiative, which includes addiction counseling and mental health services. City officials are also working to move the Daily Bread soup kitchen and shelter. The city has committed $3 million to the $15 million project, with Daily Bread raising the rest. A meeting with surrounding municipalities is scheduled for February 18 to further discuss the plan.
