A 15-year-old student was arrested at Cocoa High School on Monday morning after metal detectors detected a handgun in his possession. The OPENGATE Weapons Detection system, recently installed across Brevard County high schools, flagged the weapon as the student tried to enter campus. No one was injured, and the firearm was confiscated. The student faces felony charges and dhe investigation is ongoing.
