The Florida Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Rep. Debbie Mayfield, saying that she can run in a special election for a Florida Senate seat, overturning a state elections agency decision. The court found that Mayfield’s gap in service after leaving the Senate due to term limits allows her to run again. She will compete in an April 1 Republican primary against three other candidates. The winner will face Democrat Vance Ahrens in a special general election on June 10.
