Former Postal Worker Facing Prison Time For Tossing Mail

A now former Central Florida mailman is facing charges after investigators say he dumped over 1,000 pieces of mail, including political mail and an election ballot, in a wooded area near Orlando. 19 year old Ottis McCoy is accused of deviating from his route last October. He was caught on surveillance footage tossing large quantities of mail into the woods. McCoy has agreed to plead guilty to mail obstruction. He faces up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
