Rabies Alert In Brevard!

The Florida Department of Health has issued a rabies advisory in Brevard County after a bat tested positive for the virus on February 18th near Clubhouse Drive in Viera. Now, all residents and visitors are being warned to avoid contact with wild animals, and to keep pets vaccinated, supervised, and leashed. If bitten, seek medical attention immediately and report the injury to local authorities. Rabies is treatable, but only with prompt care. Otherwise, it is nearly 100% fatal.
