Marine Animal Deaths ‘Concerning’

Brevard County is seeing a surge in marine animal strandings, with 141 sea turtles recorded this year alone, far exceeding the five-year average. Beachgoers and conservationists are concerned, after so many animals have been found dead or sick. Some experts point to this winter’s colder temperatures, but no definitive cause has yet been identified. The Sea Turtle Preservation Society and other groups continue to monitor the situation, and they are urging the public to report stranded wildlife as investigations continue.
