Doc, the oldest male giraffe at Brevard Zoo, has passed away at the ripe old age of 22. Doc, one of the original giraffes when Expedition Africa opened in 2003, had been struggling with mobility and health issues. Despite efforts to ease his discomfort, the zoo made the difficult decision to euthanize him. He surpassed the average lifespan for male giraffes, which is typically 16.5 years.
