A Brevard County man is facing charges after police say he shot himself in a twisted attempt to win back a coworker. Investigators say 30-year-old Alexander Lefort faked a shooting at a FedEx facility in Cocoa last year, claiming a masked man tried to rob him. But forensic evidence and an investigation matched the shell casing to Lefort’s own gun. Officers say he staged the incident after being accused of stalking the woman. Lefort is now charged with providing false information, tampering, and firing a gun in public. He’s free for now, on a $4,000 bond.
