DeSantis Weighs in on Brevard Teacher “Name” Case

A teacher at Satellite High School here in Brevard County is out of a job after using a student’s preferred name without parental consent. Florida law requires schools to use legal names unless parents approve otherwise. Governor Ron DeSantis backed the decision, calling it a matter of education, not “indoctrination.” The case is now under state review to determine if Calhoun will be allowed to even keep her teaching license.
