• A police cruiser caught fire near a homeless camp in Palm Bay Wednesday, sparking a brush fire that scorched 100 acres. Fire officials say the blaze was quickly brought under control. The officer had minor injuries. A second fire nearby was also contained. Investigators are still looking into what caused the cruiser to ignite. A burn ban remains in effect across Brevard County.
