Florida’s New Super Speeder Law Nets First Arrest at 104 MPH

Minutes after Florida’s new “Super Speeder” law took effect July 1, a driver was arrested for going 104 mph on I-4 in Orange County. The law targets motorists traveling more than 100 mph or at least 50 mph over the posted limit, allowing for jail time and fines. The driver was stopped in a 70 mph zone. First offenses carry up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine, with harsher penalties for repeat offenders. Police urge safe driving as we enter the busy July 4 holiday weekend.
