Brevard County Faces $2 Billion Shortfall for Flooding Fixes

Brevard County officials say a $2.4 billion shortfall is delaying flooding and infrastructure projects in North Brevard. Residents in Mims have repeatedly lost homes and property during storms and are demanding answers. Commissioners are considering using funds from the Save Our Indian River Lagoon program or raising taxes to cover costs. No projects are underway yet, and the board will revisit the issue in January.
