Brevard Sheriff Arrests Couple on Felony Animal Cruelty Charges

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced the arrest of Rasheed Hooks and Fannie Hooks on felony animal cruelty, abandonment, and confinement charges. Investigators say complaints began in May after dogs were reportedly kept in cages for long periods and a severely malnourished puppy was later euthanized. Rasheed Hooks also faces habitual traffic offender charges. Both were taken to jail with no bond as Sheriff Ivey reminds everyone of a zero-tolerance policy for animal abuse in the county.
