All lanes of Interstate 95 in Brevard County were closed Sunday afternoon after a fast-moving brush fire burned 40 to 50 acres near Palm Bay. Crews evacuated nearby homes as shifting winds pushed flames toward neighborhoods, but no structures were damaged. The fire was fully contained by late afternoon, with northbound lanes reopening around 5:30 and southbound traffic restored by about 10:30.
