Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who was the second human ever to walk on the moon, and also just happens to be a Satellite Beach resident, will star during the Super Bowl in Verizon’s revamped “Can you hear me now?” commercial. In the ad, Aldrin, who by the way is now 95 years old, uses the brand’s updated catchphrase, “Can you text me now?” as he sends texts from remote locations. The commercial also features Paul Marcarelli, the original “Can you hear me now?” actor, making a surprise appearance. Aldrin’s iconic line, “That’s one giant leap for connectivity,” is a playful nod to Neil Armstrong’s historic moon landing quote.
