Amid an uptick in vehicle break-ins in Sebastian lately, both Sebastian Police and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is urging people there to secure their vehicles. Police say the thieves have been pretty much concentrating on vehicles that are not locked, and therefore the solution to the problem is pretty straightforward… lock your vehicle when leaving it unattended. Some of the break ins have occurred in gated communities, so even if you live in a gated community, police say lock your vehicle when you leave it. Also, don’t leave anything of value in your vehicle… especially in plain sight… to temp thieves.
