Careless Driving Leads to I-95 Crash That Injures Children

A rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Melbourne on Sunday afternoon injured four people, including a 13-year-old girl who was thrown from the vehicle. The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a Lexus was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic when he struck a tractor trailer near mile marker 179. The Lexus lost control and flipped, ejecting the 35-year-old driver and the 13-year-old passenger, both of whom were not wearing seatbelts. The girl was airlifted to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver, a 12-year-old boy, and a 3-year-old boy in a car seat were also hospitalized with minor injuries. The truck driver was not hurt.
