Fire experts today are cautioning about proper handling of lithium-ion batteries after a Sanford family of six narrowly escaped a garage fire Tuesday morning that may have started at their Tesla charging station. The homeowner said he saw black smoke pouring from his Tesla Model Y as he entered the garage. His four children, wife, and dog got out safely, though the dog was hospitalized.
