One person died on Christmas Eve in a mobile home fire on Whaley Road in Merritt Island. Neighbors reported seeing the home fully engulfed around 11 a.m., and by the time emergency crews arrived, the fire had consumed the structure. Five people lived in the home, and authorities have not identified the victim or the cause of the fire.
