Emergency Hearing Set for Wife of Suspended Osceola Sheriff in Racketeering Case

An emergency court hearing is scheduled today for Robin Severance Lopez, wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez. She has been jailed since June 23 on conspiracy to commit racketeering charges tied to an alleged illegal gambling operation. Prosecutors question whether her $400,000 bond comes from legitimate sources. Her attorney says she plans to use a home as collateral and denies involvement. If released, Robin Lopez will face GPS monitoring and a no-contact order with her estranged husband. The hearing is set for 1 p.m. at the Lake County Jail.
