The Florida Public Service Commission approved a four-year rate increase for Florida Power & Light, set to take effect Jan. 1, 2026. Residential bills using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month will rise about $2.50, roughly 2 percent. FPL says the increase funds new power plants and technology to serve more than 330,000 new customers by 2030.
