Gambling ring co-defendant pleads no contest in Osceola sheriff case

Sheldon Wetherholt pleaded no contest Monday to racketeering and conspiracy charges tied to suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez. Under the plea agreement, the state recommends three to 12 months in county jail, though the judge can adjust the sentence. Two other co-defendants, Sharon Fedrick and Carol Cole, have also reached plea deals with similar recommendations. Lopez’s trial is still pending.
