26 year old Cameron Michaels of Merritt Island has been sentenced to 60 days in the Brevard County Jail for recklessly operating a speedboat during the 2024 Christmas boat parade. Michaels pleaded no contest to reckless operation and culpable negligence after his boat collided with another vessel on Sykes Creek, injuring three people. He also received one year of probation, cannot operate a boat during that time, and must pay restitution to the victims.
