National Hurricane Center Monitors Tropical Wave Off Africa

We’re now on the back half of Hurricane Season, and so far so good! But the National Hurricane Center now is tracking a new tropical wave off the coast of Africa that forecasters say is expected to move west-northwest at about 15 mph over the eastern and central tropical Atlantic. Environmental conditions could allow gradual development this weekend, though Saharan dust and dry air may limit its growth. For now, forecasters give it only a 30 percent chance over the next seven days.
