A now-defunct school zone camera program in Palm Bay generated more than $700,000 in fines before being shut down in August. City records show the tickets were reportedly sent in error and cameras were improperly installed. Roughly 8,000 tickets were ultimately thrown out. Residents are calling for refunds or for the funds to be redirected to school zone police patrols.
