Rockledge Man Arrested for Making 3D-Printed Guns

A 33-year-old Rockledge man is behind bars after police say he used a 3D printer to make firearms, including one converted into a submachine gun. Patrick Carman, a convicted felon prohibited from owning guns, called police to report stolen weapons and admitted to having one of the 3D-printed guns at his home on Pennsylvania Avenue. Authorities, including the ATF and Brevard County bomb squad, investigated the residence amid concerns about hazardous materials. Carman faces two felony counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and further charges may be pending.
