Titusville, Brevard Clash Over $1.7 Million In Development Funds

Titusville officials are demanding the return of $1.7 million in taxpayer money held by Brevard County. The funds, tied to the now-defunct North Brevard Economic Zone, are earmarked for a redevelopment project but are currently collecting interest for the county. Mayor Andrew Connors says the city could manage the money in-house and called the county’s handling of it “insane.” Titusville is reviewing legal options while exploring a new version of the zone to boost local growth.
