A Brevard County man was arrested for pointing a laser at a helicopter several times. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was assisting Palm Bay Police who were trying to locate a suspect in a shooting investigation. Investigators say Dean Beolet for some reason, decided to shine a laser at the aircraft multiple times… which not only put officers and the flight crew in harm’s way, but it also impacted the equipment that they were using to search for the armed suspect. Beolet was quickly found, and taken into custody. He now faces charges and was locked up behind bars in the Brevard County Jail, with bond set at $2,000 bond. The pilot who was hit in the eyes with the laser has been checked out by an optometrist, and has been cleared to fly.
