New Laws Take Effect This Saturday

Some new laws take effect here in Florida this coming weekend. On July 1st, a new law that will allow guns to be carried just about anywhere in the state without a permit takes effect. However, firearms will still not be permitted in airports, courthouses, and government buildings. Another new law says private businesses with 25 or more employees will have to verify that their workers are allowed to work in the United States. Other new laws effective July 1st, mean school employees will address students by pronouns that match the student’s sex, and all people will be required to use a public restroom that aligns with their sex. Drug manufacturers will have to notify the state about significant price increases every year, and the Florida State Guard will increase the number of members from 400 to 1500.
