Launch Planned For This Weekend

The pace of launches from here on the Space Coast is not letting up as we head into a new month. The next one is set for this Saturday, July 1st, and it involves a launch by SpaceX for the European Space Agency. A Falcon 9 will take off from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station this Saturday at 11:11am. It will carry into orbit a space telescope that will attempt to help scientists answer questions about the nature of dark matter and dark energy, both of which are believed to influence the growth and development of the universe. So far, SpaceX has not indicated if there will be a first stage recovery, and if so… whether it will be on a barge in the ocean or back at the Cape’s landing zone.
